About
I am Richa Bhatnagar, founder of The WovenLab.
Over a decade in fashion — across buying, merchandising, and operations — gave me a precise understanding of how the industry makes its decisions. How ranges are built, margins set, supplier relationships structured, and how cost pressure travels down a supply chain.
I have sat in the rooms where those decisions are made. I have also worked across sourcing markets in Asia — which means I understand what a buying plan looks like when it leaves a European brand, and what it demands of a factory by the time it arrives. From being part of building the problem to working on the solution — that is the ground The WovenLab operates from.
Sustainability challenges in fashion are rarely about knowledge — brands know what needs to change. They are about translation: between sustainability strategy and buying decisions, between what a brand puts in a supplier contract and what a factory can realistically deliver, between what an audit captures and what is actually happening on the ground. That translation requires someone who understands both sides. That is what I bring to every engagement.
“I know how fashion’s sustainability problems were built. Because I was part of building them.” - Richa Bhatnagar , The WovenLab
