About Us
I’m Richa Bhatnagar, the founder of The WovenLab.
My career began in the fast-moving world of fashion retail, where I spent over a decade in buying, merchandising, sales, and operations. Over time, I realised something was missing: while fashion celebrated trends, it rarely acknowledged the people, materials, and ecosystems behind each garment. That gap inspired me to shift into sustainability consulting.
Through The WovenLab, I bring together industry knowledge and a belief that sustainability is not about expensive certifications or sweeping overhauls. It begins with the here and now—understanding what is already working, identifying small, meaningful tweaks, and building from there toward a long-term roadmap.
What drives my work is more than data and reports. I see fashion as a web of relationships, where every thread tells a story—of a farmer, an artisan, a worker, and of the landscapes where materials are grown and transformed. My approach is rooted in clarity, depth, and meaningful connection—always meeting businesses where they are, and guiding them toward what’s next.
I founded The WovenLab to reflect this philosophy - fashion is not just business, it’s a woven network of people, places, and processes. And when we honor those connections, we create a future where fashion works for both people and planet.
